Gen Z in Action!

It was 13th of March when classes got suspended because of a virus that became a threat to our lives. Three days after, in March 16, a total lockdown in the whole country was raised, and the Filipinos encountered a different threat.
Everything changed, the old world and habits weren't the same anymore. As the lockdown lengthened, the virus spread even more, but that was not the only problem Filipinos faced. Numerous business establishments closed which meant many citizens lost their work that lead to a hunger and financial hardship. As a youth, we noticed these unfortunate events happen and that determined us to do create our own ways to help the changing world.
This pandemic have impacted our lives so much and as a youth, there are only a few but powerful things that we can do. Following simples rules like properly washing your hands, keeping a distance from others and wearing a mask can have a bigger effect than you think. With these simple actions it can help stop the spread of this deadly virus.

Many young people specially the Generation Z or Gen Z have been going on their ways in helping to raise awareness and educate others online and offline. They are determined to change the world and they had been spreading awareness not only about the pandemic but also the other problems that are happening around the world which the pandemic may have caused. By educating people with the myths and facts about this COVID-19, it can help minimize terror and panic and make people do their responsibilities so that it can be extinguished faster.
Another thing we can do is to be a volunteer. Be a volunteer to those who are vulnerable. And if you privileged enough, you can donate. Find a reliable charity and campaigns to donate specially those don't have much and lost a lot because of this pandemic.
The youth is the hope. But remember when you do all of this, stay healthy and stay safe. Don't be a hypocrite and follow the safety rules and guidelines too. In this times, our health is truly our wealth.

Thanks, Junior High!

We are about to close the last page of the last chapter of this book. And we are almost halfway through this learning journey.

I learned a lot of things that made me a better person and a student. I had my teachers, and my MaxConi fam that helped me in all that I've went through this journey.
There are a few more books left to open and read. I'm ready to face all the stress and works for the coming school year. Thanks, junior high for the memories and learnings!

Which Path?

I am a year away from deciding the exact path that I will want to take. To proceed to a journey where my life will depend on. I have more than two choices, those who are told by my family, and those that I truly aspire to be.
Behind an Oscars winning show, or a record breaking structure? I am left with two choices with an entire opposite direction that it could take me, but if not good enough, it will not bring me anywhere. I've always dreamt of writing my own stories and will have the chance to say "cut!". But it is not what my family wants. They want to see me in a black or white coat in the future, which is out of my interest.
In a few months, I will take a step closer to help me decide the path I will want to chase. In a few years, I will be reading this and I'm hoping that in that time, I already made the best decision.

ISNHS: 118th Foundation Day

Whether you are a graduate or currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School, you probably know about the so called “high school day”. It is one of the most significant event that happens in ISNHS since it is the celebration of its founding.
The High School Day celebration leaves a big memory to all ISNHS students, from the preparation or for the practices of each of the entire grade levels for the highlight of the celebration, which is the field demonstration. Before the actual dance or field demonstration, the students, teaching and non teaching staffs of ISNHS conducts a parade.
This celebration surely makes our high school memories, memorable.

Tawid

Kannawidan Festival is the most awaited festival of our province. They call it the KANNAWIDAN Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818. Kannawidan is a variant of the Ilocano word "tawid" meaning heritage or inheritance.
The celebration of their festival is joined by thousands of visitors from other parts of the Philippines and other countries in enjoying the street dancing and different contests and activites prepared by the local government with the help of the local industries and communities. There are also booths of every town with their “OTOP” or one town, one product. Celebrities, bands, and other famous personalities are invited to perform during the night.
Ilocanos have been celebrating Kannawidan for 202 years and the province will continue to preserve their home, culture, and products.

Dare to Change

A little bit of change with your actions, habits and attitude can have a bigger impact than you can perceive. It can help not just your self, but also the community you are in.
By changing your lifestyle and habits, it can contribute so much more than just to your health. For example, if you start being vegetarian, it can help in so many ways. Not only that it can make your body healthier and strong but it also has a contribution to our world. By limiting your intake of meat of animals, you are saving them from extinction or other natural problems.
Change starts with ourselves. For your own body, your community and the Earth.
